General Medicine
The GPs at Summervale Medical participate in all aspects of general medicine and believe in developing relationships with patients and their families. They strive for a high quality of care in all areas, and work alongside patients to assist them in reaching their health goals and needs.
Skin Checks / Mole removal
The experienced skin cancer doctor will take 15 minutes for a full skin check depending on your skin type. To thoroughly screen, the doctor will need to examine all area that has been exposed to the sun and will ask to undress apart from your underwear (a chaperone will be available for those who request).
When booking, please specify that you require a full skin check, as this service is only offered by selected doctors.
We ask for patients to not wear makeup at time of appointment.
Womans Health
Comprehensive women’s health care delivered by experienced GPs. We provide cervical screening, contraception advice, antenatal and postnatal care, breast screening and sexual health checks, along with expert management of common concerns including periods, puberty, PCOS, fertility, endometriosis and menopause.
Mens Health
Doctors at this location specialise in the treatment of men’s health issues such as reproductive and sexual health, prostate screening and all other areas of general medicine.
Childs Health
We provide a range of healthcare services for children, including routine baby checks, Healthy Kids Checks, childhood immunisations, and monitoring of growth and development. They also provide health and support for common childhood illnesses and behavioural or developmental concerns such as autism, ADHD and bedwetting.
Chronic Diseases/Care Plans
The independent GPs consulting from our clinic provide care for a wide range of chronic (long-term) health conditions and work closely with specialists and other healthcare providers to support coordinated, ongoing care. Conditions commonly managed include diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, high cholesterol, asthma, COPD/emphysema, arthritis, osteoporosis, dementia, depression, anxiety, alcohol dependency, obesity and chronic pain.
Weight management
The independent GPs consulting from our clinic offer weight management consultations for both new and existing patients. During your consultation, your GP will review your overall health, medical history, medications and lifestyle factors, and may arrange investigations such as blood tests to identify possible underlying causes of weight gain. They will then work with you to create a safe and personalised plan to support effective and sustainable weight management.
DVA Veteran Care
Our GPs and allied health team are all DVA service providers. We offer CVC plans for eligible veteran card holders. We are committed to providing comprehensive health care to our ADF veterans.
Travel Medicine / Vaccinations
Travel health consultations are also available to help ensure you are prepared before travelling. Your GP can provide advice on recommended vaccinations, medications and health precautions to reduce the risk of illness while overseas. Please book a separate appointment for each traveller.
Mental Health Care Plan
We support patients with their mental health and can prepare Mental Health GP Care Plans for eligible patients. Medicare rebates may be available for up to 10 subsidised services per 12 month period.
Immunisations
All government supplied essential immunizations are available as well as private immunizations across all ages.
Sexual Health/ Contraception
Confidential sexual health care is available through the independent GPs consulting from our clinic. Services include STI screening, testing and counselling, contraception advice and prescriptions, and Implanon insertion and removal. Regular testing can help detect infections early, including conditions such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, genital herpes, HIV and hepatitis.
Work Cover
We provide care and the necessary clinical documentation required for work related injuries/claims and insurance medicals / income protection claims.
Procedures
Minor accident/emergency care, skin lesion excisions, ingrown toenail removal, Implanon insertion/removal, dressings and wound care.
All procedures require an initial consultation to assess whether the procedure is clinically appropriate, at the treating doctor’s discretion. Elective procedures may need to be booked for another day.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
We provide Annual health checks to promote preventive care and empower individuals to take control of their health through timely screenings and interventions to achieve better health outcomes.
Musculoskeletal/Sports Medicine
Assessment and management of both acute and chronic pain, including injuries. Where appropriate, your GP may coordinate care with local specialists and allied health providers to support a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and recovery
Pre employment/Drivers Medicals
The independent GPs consulting from our clinic provide a range of medical assessments, including pre-employment health checks and driver’s licence medicals. Please bring any forms required with all relevant sections completed beforehand.
